Imagination is more important than knowledge.

ALBERT EINSTEIN

There’s a story in my family that goes something like this:

I was a wee little baby, and my older brother was trying to communicate with me, but I was too little to understand. Exasperated, my brother cried, “Why won’t you talk?” My father overheard this statement and said, “Just you wait.”

Well, I did start talking, and I haven’t taken a breath since.

It’s not the love of my own voice that keeps me going, but my insatiable love of words.

Words are magical. If you put them together in one way, they can tell a story. If you arrange them another way, it’s a poem. Words can make novels, newspapers, screenplays, and letters. The possibilities are endless.

In the course of my life, I’ve dabbled in acting, in art, in photography, in marketing. I’m a self-proclaimed “geek” who is passionate about books, television shows, and movies, and the characters within them. At some point I took a step back and asked myself what the common thread was.

It’s Storytelling.

The tradition of storytelling is as old as humanity itself. Whether we consider ourselves creative or not, we tell stories and we consume stories at a rate that suggests that it’s more than just a pastime or entertainment. We intrinsically need stories to know more about one-another, and to be known.

So, what’s my story? That’s what this website is all about.

In short, I had words that needed a place to live so I built them a house on the internet. I suppose you could say that I’m an author, or an aspiring author. I had one friend kindly refer to me as a “wordsmith” which is the highest praise I could ask for. I don’t know what will come of this, but while I’m figuring that out, we may as well have some story time, right?

We’re all just stories in the end. Make it a good one, eh?
